GeoSearch2011 - About GeoSearch 2011

Updated for the 2011 Census, GeoSearch2011 makes it easy to find places in Canada, see them on a map, and get basic geographic and demographic data for those places. To find a specific place of interest, users can zoom in on a map of Canada or they can search by place name, postal code, street address, street intersection or geographic code. GeoSearch will display the appropriate map showing 2011 Census geographic boundaries, roads and water features.

GeoSearch automatically shows, for the selected places, what kind of 2011 Census standard geographic area it is and its relationship to other 2011 Census standard geographic areas. A thematic mapping option is also available for selected Census topics for the following levels of geography: Census Divisions (CD), Census Subdivisions (CSD) and Census Tracts (CT). GeoSearch includes links to 2011 Census reference maps, Census Profile and Focus on Geography series.

It also allows users to view data in tabular format for more than one 2011 Census standard geographic area at a time and automatically displays additional 2011 Census statistical data for each selected area (such as population and dwelling counts). It also allows users to display two types of geographic boundaries at the same time.
